Registered Dietitian
Mallory Naquin is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist and the founder of NOLA’s Gardening Dietitian, a virtual nutrition consulting practice. After graduating from Tulane, she embarked on a career driven by her passion for nutrition education. Her journey began with AmeriCorps, where she developed and taught culinary programs. She then continued her educational role with the Edible Schoolyard, serving as an educator, site gardener, greenhouse manager, and Cafe Liaison. In this role, she taught nutrition, culinary skills, and regenerative agriculture in school gardens that featured pollinators, chickens, goats, and even a potbelly pig. For nearly a decade, Mallory cultivated thousands of plants for school gardens and their surrounding communities.
Today, Mallory continues her commitment to community service as a Louisiana Master Gardener, where she creates and maintains butterfly gardens and leads wildflower walks, emphasizing the positive impact of nature on our lives and how we can influence the world around us. She also teaches STEM education.
Mallory has expanded her expertise through training and certifications in dietetics, nutrition coaching, gut health, and sustainable food practices, often delving into evidence-based nutrient research. Her passion lies in helping the community better understand themselves through food and the natural world, making the seemingly complex act of nourishment a joyful and integral part of life. Mallory is dedicated to teaching essential life skills, striving for balance with nature, and improving nutritional intake to help her clients achieve optimal health.
